Catch a leprechaun, and you’ll go to the Indiana Artisan Marketplace for free.

When you visit Indiana Artisan Gifts & Gallery between March 17 and 21, dip your hand deep into our pot of gold. Pull out a coin with a leprechaun’s hat, and you win a ticket to the state’s premier art and food experience. The gift shop and gallery that sells the handcrafted work of 160 Hoosier artisans is located at 22 N. Rangeline Road, Carmel.

You can take a chance each day the program is offered, but please, only one try per day per adult. No purchase is necessary to play, though we do hope you browse the many new things in the store.

The Marketplace is March 28-29 in the AgHort Building at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Nearly 90 creatives whose art, food or beverage carries the Indiana Artisan designation will have a booth filled with their work at it. About 20 will demonstrate their creative process, and all the food and beverage producers will offer samples. Many artisans will have a special item that exemplifies what Americana means to them and to honor the nation’s 250th birthday. Marketplace guests can vote for their favorite item to win the People’s Choice Award.

The work of nearly 230 artisans in 57 Indiana counties has been juried and earned the designation Indiana Artisan from the state. Not just a moniker, the honor means their art, food or beverage is among the best of Hoosier craftsmanship. Indiana Artisans include painters, potters, woodworkers, bakers, chocolatiers, vintners, printmakers, jewelry designers, weavers, paper and mixed media artists, leatherworkers, and more.
