Winzerwald Winery, named for its founders’ German ancestry as “winemakers of the forest,” opened in June 2002 on a picturesque hill in the Hoosier National Forest, along Interstate 64 in Perry County.
Owners Dan and Donna Adams make their gold medal and best-of-show award-winning wines with fruit grown on its 30-year old vineyard, nestled along the Ohio River on the family’s fifth generation farm, as well as two new vineyards located near the winery.
Winzerwald Winery — easily identifiable with its unique Nutcracker label — is known for its outstanding German-inspired wines, including Riesling, Pinot Meunier, Blaufränkisch, Gewürztraminer, Grϋner Veltliner, Mai Wein, and Glühwein.
Winzerwald also makes a very popular fruit wine collection that includes award winning flavors, such as Blueberry, Cherry, Cranberry, Peach, and Strawberry, among others. Winzerwald fans also love its herbed and spiced wines, created with recipes based on traditional German seasonal wines.
Plan a visit to Winzerwald Winery to enjoy wine flights, a weekend concert, monthly food-and-wine pairing events, or simply spend a relaxing afternoon enjoying a glass of wine as you overlook the vineyard valley. Prost!
